This Sunday, June 13th, I will be in Manitou Springs, Colorado, at a Tie One On apron event…a completely unique gathering to be held at three locations: safron of manitou springs, Black Cat Books, and Avenue Hotel B&B.
This event begins at 11 a.m. with a meet and greet (with me) hosted at safron, where amongst the store’s eclectic offerings, vintage and vintage-inspired aprons will be on display and available for purchase. I’ll be discussing my forays as an apron archaeologist and sharing aprons and other cloth goods from my collection.
At Black Cat Books, along with a booksigning there will be stations set up to assist blooming apronistas in creating a handkerchief with a vintage feel, learning about High Tea, the fine art of letter writing, and a smattering of other mini-seminars.
Next, we will move to the Avenue B&B for a lovely brunch on the lawn!!

Manitou Springs is an easy and quick drive west of Colorado Springs. The flavor of this town is charming, and the apron event should be equally so. If you’re in the vicinity, do join us!
