Looking out the front window of my writing room, I see this Hawthorne tree. Planted 5 years ago, its growth has been impressive. My home is an old house and the second story is at least 16 feet from the ground. Planted to provide shade, it also provides me an every changing view. This ait’s also my gazing ball, one of those Victorian colored orbs that people set on a standBut a few days ago, the leaves were barely tinged red. I took a photo of it because should tonight’s freeze prove cruel as forecast, tomorrow’s view will not be as colorful.
