When in need of an apron as an accessory, I look first to my collection. Yet even should I spy the perfect apron, I may still decide to just sew one up – the decision coming much faster than the actual stiching! So it was with this apron, which boasts not only a vintage embroidered hand towel but
rick rack…my all-time favorite embellishment. I made this apron 4 years ago to wear with a chintz strapless tea-length dress. I’ve worn it dozens of times since – not only for its charm, but it took me forever to apply that rick rack! Time, I know, to let that go.

Tie One On…an apron, of course!
You are coming to my city in April and I am so excited!! That is my Mom’s 85th birthday. I can’t wait to meet you. I love the yellow apron with the rickrack and the handtowel on the front. Adorable!!!! I used to embroider handtowels like that with my Grandmother when I was a young girl. She taught me. I wish I had all of her old transfers. Have a wonderful week. Looking forward to seeing you soon. Love & blessings from NC!
I love to buy vintage pillowcases and not for the reason you may think. I’m not dreaming of my bedroom pillows all fluffed up in the vintage finery. I’m holding them up my waste pondering the question….”Would this make a good apron?”
I love reusing and being inspired by these vintage finds.
